Beyond the grape arbor and to the south of the greenhouse resides Tasha’s hollyhock bank. Its proximity to the herb circle subtly unites it with the rest of the garden, but by late July when much of the color in the garden has faded it is the focal point, for the hollyhocks are in full bloom. Ranging from pure white to varying shades of pink and yellow, the hollyhocks are a wonderful presence, particularly very late in the afternoon when the sun sets beyond the field and for a moment casts its light across the entire garden.

On a partly-sunny day, when the skies are heavy with impending rain, but the sun refuses to be entirely hidden, the greens around Tasha's house are stunning. The leaves offer a hundred shades of green when the sunlight teases us and catches the dew.

This Fresh Corn Salad is the perfect companion dish for summer classics like grilled burgers, steak, and chicken. It's sweet, crunchy, and refreshing!

Dear Friends,
The summer has been going faster than the water striders Ellie loves to watch flit around the rain barrels (such as they are this dry summer). Can you believe it is nearly August? There is still so much to be done! Luckily, berries have been picked, and ice cream has been made, iced tea enjoyed, and of course, we were pleased to share the June splendor with many of our fans and friends during the summer Corgi Cottage Tours: Tasha's House & Garden.

Spring has sprung!

It is springtime in Vermont, and that is marked with many subtle and not-so-subtle shifts in routine. Four o'clock is no longer dusk, and as such, our tea times feel lighter, and more refreshing...compelling us onward into the now-light evening. Tea has taken on a distinctly spring-like feel, filled with pastel chocolates, citrusy delights, and a table laden with fresh flowers. As if a riot of daffodils in Tasha's garden, and the perfectly clear blue skies aren't lovely enough, Easter and April birthdays make the time seem even more exciting. Here are few recent scenes...

This is a wonderful salad appropriate for spring and summer. Try it paired with my Spinach, Grape Tomato, & Feta Frittata for nice, light warm weather meal!

Easter is another magical holiday that I take such pleasure in. Easter baskets are carefully planned out and executed with traditional items like a stuffed animal, handmade egg and each member of my family has their favorite easter candy. I enjoy putting out of the ordinary items in the baskets.

And Easter brunch...a delightful reason to bake yeast breads and cakes, decorated cookies, (for cutters I have a carrot, several bunnies, lambs, several eggs, and of course, the hen and dove from our website!) and savory brunch items. This year, I have decided to share a savory item, as often I am accused of being too focused on sweets! Please enjoy it this Easter Holiday and as always, I hope you get as much pleasure as I do in the joys of cooking!

Seed collecting is a time-honored, and time-consuming, process. But rewarding, as are so many old-fashioned pursuits. There is a pleasant beauty one can find in such a task. Amy Tudor, Tasha's granddaughter-in-law, as I'm sure you all know, has agreed to share her process.
