Tasha painted this portrait of Jefferson when he was still a puppy in one of the many litters that she raised. Not long after, Tasha gave Jefferson and his brother Franklin to Seth Tudor and his family where they enjoyed walking and frequently running away from Seth's sons Benjamin and Winslow Tudor.
There's a particularly charming way that corgis run off. At first, there is nothing amiss. When you next look at your sweet fairy dog, you'll notice they are a bit farther away, but there is nothing out of the ordinary. When you look again, they are farther away still, but innocently sniffing some bushes or grass as they then intend to linger there for hours. And finally, you look again and there is no dog in sight. At that point, they would be running as though there was no tomorrow, down the long driveway and out into the world. Jefferson was espcially skilled in this technique.
